Can You Write About WordPress and Blogging?
We’re looking for a team of capable bloggers to ghostwrite WordPress content.
As you’ll be writing in detail about WordPress, you’ll need a good working knowledge of WordPress.org, rather than just a basic idea of how to use it.
The type of content we expect you to cover includes articles on WordPress themes, plugins, strategies, and general tutorials.
The target audience ranges from amateur WordPress users through to WordPress freelancers and professionals making their income from a WordPress-powered business.
For a better idea of the content we’re looking for, take a look at some of these blogs:
• Elegant Themes http://www.elegantthemes.com/blog/
• WP Explorer http://www.wpexplorer.com/blog/
• WPMU DEV https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/
• Chris Lema http://chrislema.com/blog/
This is an ongoing assignment, and we’re looking to form a long-term working relationship with the right person/people.
Punctuality is just as important as expertise, and it’s important you stick to the deadlines given. If you can’t meet a deadline, try to give as much notice as possible so we can make alternative arrangements.
Just as important is the ability to read and follow instructions.
Because of the somewhat technical nature of the topic, we can only accept applications with relevant samples. Any WordPress samples would be ideal, especially if it’s published on an external website.
We will also consider applications with samples on closely related topics, such as Internet marketing, eCommerce, web design, freelancing, etc.
In order to provide consistently great content, we require applicants who are able to produce creative article ideas around WordPress – this is where a good knowledge of WordPress.org will really come in handy!
To support your application and give us an understanding of your expertise, please include 3-4 post ideas, including brief summaries. This will be an important part of the workflow, as the better your proposals, the quicker we can assign work to you.
Try to go beyond basic plugin and theme lists and come up with something more substantial (take a look at the blogs above for inspiration).
We’ll be looking to run a trial period initially – fully paid, of course – to make sure we work well together. If the trial goes well, we’d like to make the arrangement permanent.
Who Should Apply
You’ve used WordPress and know the software inside and out. You can also write informative and entertaining content for WordPress users – both amateur and professional users – and can fit in one to two 2,000-word articles a week.
If you are looking to break into the lucrative world of freelance blogging, then this job is for you!
How to apply
We’re really looking for proven bloggers who can confidently write about WordPress to experienced and new WordPress users.
Think informative and entertaining content for WordPress professionals such as freelance web designers and developers, as well as those managing busy blogs powered by WordPress.
Please bear this in mind when applying.
Also, please only apply if you can provide a *relevant* sample of your work. It could be an article on your own blog or elsewhere. You could even attach an article you’ve written and not published.
As well as links to your published articles, please also include 3-4 post ideas that would suit one of the top blogs for WordPress users, such as Elegant Themes, WPMU Dev, Torquemag.io, or WP Curve. Please also include a sentence further explaining your blog post idea.
We’re not really looking for plugin or theme round-ups. Think more along the lines of advice and information for busy WordPress users who want to grow their website, blog, business, or freelancing business that is built around WordPress.
The rate is up to 6 cents (USD) per word and each article will typically be around 2000 words long. This is roughly $120 to $180 per post.
So when applying, that’s a few links to your published WordPress-related articles, 4-5 blog post topic ideas, and your proposed rate (up to 6 cents per word) to email@example.com
We look forward to hearing from you!
