The role of a Finance Business Partner is an outward-facing senior finance role within the Optum finance team to proactively make sure the provision of financial services to Lincolnshire CCG customers to the full extent of the specification and the delivery of agreed KPIs.

Finance Business Partner Primary Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering
  • Responsible for leading the provision of business partnering to the CCGs by Regular liaison with key CCG staff
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of the partner CCG’s financial position / specific issue to make sure that finance provided services are tailored to meet specific CCG requirements within the agreed specification

  • Take a leading role in ensuring that the services provided by the Optum Finance Team meet or exceed the requirements of the CCG and that any performance issues are addressed as quickly as possible

  • Support the recruitment and training practices to make sure that the finance workforce is developed to meet the current and future requirements of the business
  • Keep up to date and have in – depth specialist knowledge of financial and accounting rules, and financials aspects of NHS legislation and policies

Required Qualifications

  • ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant
  • Significant PQE
  • Evidence of active continuing professional development
  • Broad finance department experience and understanding
  • Experience of Staff Management and Recruitment
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial reporting skills and techniques
  • MS Office – advanced user of MS Excel

  • The skills to check and learn from outcomes, with a clear commitment to innovation, learning and improvement

  • Stamina, energy and enthusiasm and the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Influencing, negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • A collaborative management style, which recognises and values personal contributions and agenda and encourages team working

Preferred Qualifications

  • Educated to degree standard
  • Postgraduate financial or management qualification or equivalent experience
  • A record of achievement in managing and improving NHS financial management services
  • Knowledge and understanding of business partnering
  • Knowledge and understanding of NHS Commissioning
