Starting Salary Social Worker: Starting £ 25,440 p.a
Starting Salary Senior Practitioner: £ 32,778 p.a. plus benefits including Market Forces, Pension etc Location: County wide 2 Permanent Positions -Full Time – 37 hours per week

As part of Hertfordshire’s Specialist Services, exciting opportunities has arisen for you to join us as a Social Worker or as a Senior Practitioner in the adoption west team. You will be joining a forward thinking service that puts the outcomes for children at the heart of all we do. There is opportunity to develop skills and expertise in all aspects adoption support work, and to work alongside several specialists attached to our service.
The positions provide an opportunity to effectively utilise assessment and communication skills alongside building on previous knowledge and experience of adoption and the provision of support. You will need to be a qualified social worker including HCPC registration, and have a good understanding and experience of relevant adoption regulations and legislation. You will need awareness, or show an interest and willingness to further your understanding, of the impact of a child or young person’s life history on areas such as attachment and development. Experience in group work and training will be an advantage.
You will possess good assessment, recording analysis, and safeguarding skills. You will also need to have experience of working in a statutory setting. Work completed by this team includes multi agency liaison to discuss appropriate interventions; reassessments of support packages, therapeutic intervention with families and children, and managing letter box and access to adoption records.
With the plans for the adoption support fund there is scope and opportunity to be creative in how we develop the adoption support service in Hertfordshire to meet the growing need and demand for service provision.
