POSITION

The Union Mexico Office has a vacancy for a Technical Office based in Mexico.

Responsibilities:

1) Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use in Latin America :

a. Promoting the grants program

b. Evaluating project ideas and full project proposals

c. Participating in the negotiation of project contracts as Technical Advisor

d. Project monitoring

e. Sending information about the projects development to the Grants Team

2) Technical materials about tobacco control in Latin America:

a. Compiling information about tobacco control policies in Latin America and producing regular reports

b. Adapting and producing technical materials about tobacco control for the technical courses and the management courses in coordination with the Training Officer

c. Organize and maintain the resource library of the office and the database

3) Work plan of the Mexico office:

a. Contributing to the creation of the work plan of the office for tobacco control and its implementation

b. Producing, executing and analyzing the evaluation strategy of the activities of the office I Latin America

c. Assisting in the planification of programs, implementation and evaluation, according to needs

d. Preparing activity reports and other reports as necessary

4) Other tasks as necessary

As well as the permanent responsibilities described above, the Officer shall train the new Training Officer during transition period, and to cooperate with the Training Officer in all the activities related to his/her position.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant field. A postgraduate degree in a relevant subject an advantage

  • Minimum two years’ work experience in an international environment

  • Strong oral and written communication, consultation and interpersonal skills

  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Ability to work to agreed schedules and standards

  • Flexible approach

  • Maturity, tact and diplomacy

  • Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish; Portuguese is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Web-based applications)

  • Availability to travel internationally
